EKRA REALIZES INNOVATIVE PRINT SYSTEMS WITH MULTIPLE EXTENSION OPTIONS FOR ANY KIND OF REQUIREMENT

EKRA realizes innovative printing systems with numerous expansion options for every requirement. Meeting demanding tasks in high-volume manufacturing, EKRA presents the SERIO printing systems. With a printing repeatability of ± 20 µm @6 Sigma and a cycle time of up to six seconds, the printing systems meet high criteria in all electronics sectors. All EKRA printers are based on a platform concept, including the SERIO 4000, 5000, 6000, and X5 Professional. This means they can be equipped with a variety of options and features at any time and flexibly adapted to individual needs.

In the back-to-back configuration, the SERIO 4000 achieves optimal throughput rates with a compact footprint. By placing them back-to-back, production can be carried out on two tracks simultaneously: Two printers can work in parallel and independently, making production more flexible. In the Quad Lane variant, the system achieves maximum throughput rates. For this purpose, four SERIO 4000s are placed back-to-back. The two double-lane systems are arranged in a so-called tandem mode, allowing two substrates to be simultaneously fed, processed, and transported on the two individual tracks. The first substrate goes through the first printer and is then printed on by the second.

Thanks to its wide product portfolio, the machinery manufacturer has established itself in the SMT industry as a strong partner in the holistic printing process autonomously.

With the SERIO 6000, EKRA offers a fully autonomous printer solution. The printing system can autonomously change the job without the intervention of an operator and work continuously. The SERIO 6000 not only changes the stencil and squeegee but also sets the support pin automatically. Furthermore, the solder paste can be taken from the cartridge magazine and precisely applied by the electric dispenser. The system can hold up to nine 12oz cartridges. The electric dispenser can not only control the application volume but also replace the cartridges and monitor the cartridge fill level.

The newly developed Sphere squeegee head is capable of picking up the solder paste from the stencil and transferring it to another stencil, for example, during a changeover. Additionally, the squeegee angle can be automatically adjusted within the range of 50°-65°, depending on process requirements. The squeegee cassette, as well as the stencil, can be changed automatically. The vertically arranged stencil magazine stores the stencil and squeegee cassette until the setup change is initiated. Only then does it swing up into the vertical transfer position where the exchange of the used stencil and squeegee cassette for the new job is carried out. The stencil magazine then immediately swings back into the space-saving, vertical position. The preparation of the printer, i.e., loading with cartridges, a new stencil, and squeegee cassette by the operator, is asynchronous. This means the machine processes the current job and is prepared, without interruption, with the tools and materials for the next job.

As an extension to the SERIO 6000, the APA, the Autonomous Process Assistant, takes over the supply and removal of stencils, squeegees, and printing media to the respective storage locations and/or preparation areas.

EKRA not only offers printing solutions for flat assemblies but also printing solutions for solar wafers, fuel cells, or round, small, and individual substrates such as pipes or flexible materials.
